Web 2 graphics

We were given flash file which acts like a camera. What it does is takes pictures with your webcam and gives you the option to save photos. Our task was to redesign interface for this program in a style of web 2 graphics.

I tried to mach background colour to metalic feel of button edges. I like how buttons have turned out but I could have puted more work into creating a background which would better match the style of buttons.

Interface

What is an interface? Interface can be described as interaction between two objects. For example it could be interaction between internet browsers and servers, software and hardware, people and cars and many other different things that interact between each other.

I imported everything in to flash and used script that was provided by our tutor. Script accesses values of weather data that are stored online.

After research for my assignment I decided to create Graphic User Interface for a live environment data feed in a completely visual way without any numbers or letters. The theme that I will try to create my work in is steam punk .

Before starting my work I did some more research on steampunk and dominant colours in this style which are usually dark colours used with colours of bronze, gold, copper .

For the humidity in the air I will create a water tank with a glass window showing the amount of water inside which will represent the amount of humidity in the air. To show the temperature I will have a counter attached to the water tank.

Research

For my assignment I have to create Graphic User Interface for a live environment data feed.
I have looked at some similar works that graphicly shows weather data and found several diferent ways that weather data is displayed.
First one shows everything in graphs, charts, numbers and usually doesn't have as much visual appeal but it clearly shows all the data.

Another way to show data is completely visual and has alot of imagery which represents weather. For example moving grass shows how windy it is in area, sun shows that its not raining.

Then there is just a map of area with with info.

Weather can be represented by all kind of abstract shapes colours or something else it all comes down to imagination.
